“I have more confidence than before”

Sorcheayean, age 11, studies in grade 6 at Om Sophat Primary School in Samraong District, Takeo Province.

Sorcheayean is a member of the Child Council supported by KPY at Om Sopahat school. She and her fellow council members participated in  training on Child Rights/Child Protection and Positive Discipline. After attending the training with her classmates, Sorcheayean said, “I find that I am more confidence than before, to talk about children concerns to the adults such as my parents, in the community where I live and at school. I can answer and participate my idea whenever they ask me.”

“After KPY taught me about Child Rights and Child Protection, I know the 4 basic rights such as the right to survival, the right to protection, the right to participation, and the right to development. I teach my classmates about that as well.” said Sorcheayean.
